Ricky was born in Wimbourne, England and was raised by his parents there. When he was four, his sister was born, followed three years later by his little brother. During those first seven years, Ricky was the sort of toddler who loved to explore, often wandering around the house and bumping into things that could easily break. One such trip led to him actually breaking something on his right hand, leading to a scar on the back of his hand. Since then he has used that scar to remind himself of the need for caution in different situations he faces.
Receiving his Hogwarts letter, Ricky was excited to be sorted into Slytherin, pleased to note the Sorting Hat taking his craftiness and the fact that he had some pride in being a Pureblood into consideration. He surprised people though when he pointed out that the fact that he was proud to be a Pureblood did not mean that he was biased against those of half-blood or muggle-born birth, often befriending people of those blood types in an effort to show some solidarity among the Wizarding world. He has on occasion used this for some personal gain, but on enough of a rare basis that no-one has seen that as a problem.
His first four years were relatively quiet while his next year had been a bit more eventful, mostly due to O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T. preparations. He still tried spending time with friends as studying would allow, but would often spend time in study due to the tests he was approaching or was taking at the time. He got through his O.W.L.s and put focus on becoming a Healer, as he felt that his skills were best served helping those who were injured or hurt.
