in the midst of war, cora and macabi o'reilly gave birth to a daughter. not only was the second wizarding war taking over the united kingdom, but a war was waging between the o'reilly and dolan families. both were pureblood families who had a history of murder, treachery, and complete dislike between them. cora could not help the fact that in the intensified situation around them that she gave birth to a little girl - keira. ireland was their home and yet it felt like it was being invaded at that time - by death eaters and by the dolans, from the other side of the country. even though the fate of their families were uneasy, cora and macabi were able to make it through. a truce fell between them when the death eaters recruited both families into their ranks for their pureblood elitist ways, but it was difficult to say the least.

for three years, both the o'reilly and dolan families were safe, no longer attacking each other. cora remained home with keira while macabi fought along lord voldemort's ranks and became a loyal death eater. he always put his best foot forward and knew how to fight his way through any ambush. when lord voldemort fell, however, macabi picked up his little family and they went into hiding. macabi wasn't sure if the order of the phoenix knew of his involvement with the death eaters due to the fact that he remained masked during his duels and didn't travel into hogwarts' castle during the battle of hogwarts. regardless, he had his family to protect, so they took every precaution not to be found.

at that time it was hard to hide little keira. she was rambunctious and wild like any other three year old. finally it seemed like everything was okay, that they didn't have to hide anymore. their security came with the announcement from the daily prophet that the most serious of death eaters had been put away in azkaban, and that those who were not yet captured were harmless due to recent events. the o'reilly family reinstated their territory - not in their previous home but in another. macabi stayed home, as their wealth was prominent from inheritance, and the three o'reilly members grew comfortable.

at keira's age of nine, her mother gave birth to her little brother, dominic. keira loved her little brother and coddled him constantly. however, she herself had begun to show signs of magic in very interesting ways - one of which particularly caught her parents' attention. on a trip to a nearby campground, keira grew fond of the wild snakes and even appeared to be talking to the snakes before her. it seemed they were responding. her parents didn't acknowledge it while they were on vacation, but did when they returned home. it appeared, though they weren't aware of it previously, that keira was a parselmouth.

it was a rare, genetic ability that even cora and macabi couldn't explain. but if they had looked back to their family tree, they would have seen where a seventh-great grandfather had the ability, as well. it was quite rare in the wizarding world, and as such they became much more honoured by their daughter. she noticed it, too, and began taking advantage of it. were her parents fearsome? not particularly. through the death they had witnessed and murder they both participated in, it was unlikely that the o'reilly family could ever be fearful of a little girl like keira. until she had a temper tantrum that practically exposed them to the muggle world. then, they took precautions.

keira went off to hogwarts like any other child, fitting quite splendidly in slytherin like the rest of her family. she got good grades but got good followers, too. she was much better of a leader than a follower, which often got her into trouble with professors. she didn't mind, though. she knew she was better than most that walked around her, and particularly much more so than those petty professors 'teaching' them. keira was charming, though. she knew that even if she felt sickeningly about some people around her, unless they were mudbloods, she would have to play nice. it ultimately meant more power, of course.

the years of keira's schooling went by far too quickly. for the most part she enjoyed them, though there were parts she could have done without. her career choice was chosen at a young age - snake charming. after graduation she went straight into her career independently, purchasing her own supplies. her business boomed. she proved time and time again that she was not a fake, and people began to wonder about her gift as a parselmouth. she tended to work mostly in knockturn alley and other dark places, and was even hired for big parties as well - mostly for purebloods. her brother, dominic, went to hogwarts when keira was nineteen, and even he was proud of her. despite their difference in age, the two siblings were close.

they became closer due to an unfortunate reason, though. the o'reilly and dolan truce had broken and, apparently, it was a one-sided breakage. the dolan clan set fire to the o'reilly home, though cora and macabi were quick. with several generations living in the house, a whole-out war broke out. it was fatal. cora and macabi lost their lives that night, as did the matching generation of dolans. keira was left in charge of the o'reilly family, and niall dolan of his own. currently no war has sparked between them, but most imagine it's a matter of time.
