[attr="class","CVcontent3temp1"] Esmeralda Cavendish Mynk was born into a family of people who were somewhat nomads for a good while. This meant while they lived in beautiful manor houses or luxurious penthouses throughout Europe, they never stayed in them for more than a few years. They afforded such beautiful living temporary domains because wizards and witches came far and wide to make use of Morgana Mynk's gift as a Seer. Morgana, Esmeralda's mother, never exploited her gift by robbing anyone in need of their last galleon, but her fair price again allowed the family to do well for themselves, along with the work her father and older brother found from place to place.
The moving ended when Esmeralda expressed a desire to go to Hogwarts. Shortly after her family moved to London, Esmeralda heard remarkable stories about the school when she walked about in Diagon Alley. It was also around this time that it was discovered she had inherited her mother's gift of divination. Having admiration for the school themselves, her parents agreed their daughter's gift would be best molded at the school. And they were right.
Esmeralda was sorted into Ravenclaw, which helped add wit and wisdom to her gift as a Seer. Being a Ravenclaw pushed her to strengthen her mind in a number of her classes. The one she obviously sought to particularly excel in was Divination. Though Professor Trelawney was a bit odd to many and her methods (and sometimes abilities) questionable, Esmeralda strove to be a star student for her. Her hard work paid off when she was deemed a teacher's assistant in her sixth year. Also in her sixth year, she made the decision that she wanted to use her gift for the good of all wizards and witched. A few years after finishing at Hogwarts, she became fortunate enough to acquire a vacated position as Keeper of Prophecies in the Ministry.
While she cherished her job (and of course continues to do so) and tried to aid the wizarding world as best she can with the paths ahead of them, Esmeralda became a bit more mysterious in her words and actions, taking on the traits of her mother and the female Seers before her. She wasn't dark or had any sinister intentions, though she at times apparently gave others that vibe due to the idle rumors about what she did in private. Still, there are many who see the real Esmeralda Mynk and have become quite fond of her as a Ministry worker and friend.
