Mischievous - James is always getting into things he's not supposed to. He's very adventurous and curious. He likes to discover things just as little children do. James has even used the Invisibility Cloak and Marauder's Map, both of which he stole from his father's office, to track other people to see what they were up to. While James doesn't necessarily own up to the fact that he gets into trouble a lot, it's quite obvious to others, especially professors, that James is just like his grandfather after whom he was named.[break][break]
Loyal - Loyalty is something that James cherishes deeply. He holds his relationships close to his heart. He would do anything to protect his family and friends. He is the type of person that won't stand for bullies attacking his family, even his distant cousins of the Krum family. As James sometimes picks on his own family members and friends, this trait can be considered somewhat hypocritical. On the one hand he teases his little sister and his own friends, but on the other he wouldn't dream of allowing someone else do the same. [break][break]
Brave - James Potter is extremely brave. He isn't one to back down from a fight but knows when to turn away if things will get him into serious trouble or danger. James knows his limits but also knows when one has to overcome their fears. He isn't afraid of much aside from the looming threats against his family. Apart from that, James is eager to prove he can protect those around him. Being brave happens to help this desire in more ways than he knows. [break][break]
Willing - He isn't one to give up easily. James has a stubborn demeanor like his father and uses it to its full potential. When James sees something that catches his eye, he'll go after it whole-heartedly. Whether that means a date with a pretty girl, a bully that's just cursed one of his mates, James is right there at the forefront ready to take action to gain satisfaction for himself. He doesn't back down unless it's evident he will lose, at which point James will suffer defeat and exemplify depression until something great cheers him up.

Strong - James is a very strong individual, both in magical ability and intelligence. He can curse the pants off a bully in two seconds and charm his way through locked doors and hidden passages. He gets decent grades and excels on practical tasks, though his grades drop due to his apparent dislike for homework. His intelligence is sufficient, though, and his parents are glad that he seems to grasp magic fairly easily. He's physically strong, as well. James is very athletic due to his time spent on the Quidditch Pitch which means that running and lifting heavy objects are no match for his muscular arms.

Joker - While James can be serious at times, his demeanor is usually very playful and interactive. James has loads of friends because of his friendliness and joking ways. Although some people probably get annoyed by his constant pranking, most of his own friends appreciate his sense of humor and they make a sort of 'war' out of it, seeing who can come up with the best, and most of them, pranks. James' girlfriends get a lesser sentence than his guy friends, due to the fact that James is so suave with the ladies, but he won't deny having slipped a whoopee cushion or two under a gilfriend's chair.

James Sirius Potter was born on June 30 to Harry and Ginny Potter. He was named, of course, after Harry's father and godfather. He was the first child born to Harry and Ginny, but not the last. James became an older brother twice, once a year after his own birth, and the second a few years later. Despite the fact that he had siblings to share his parents' attention with, James never felt unloved. Harry and Ginny raised their children with discipline, but also with care and kindness that made them feel secure.

James' childhood was filled with many friends, most of them being his cousins from the Weasley side. He and his family spent many days hanging out at the Burrow with their grandparents, learning to fly and rummaging through their grandfather's muggle things. James and his brother, Albus, usually kept their distance because of the fact that they didn't really get along much. He and Lily, on the other hand, were practically inseparable. While James has always been protective of all of his family members, including Albus despite their differences, James would take a killing curse for Lily if circumstances permitted it. Still, James and his cousins were close, too, though he was usually closer to the ones that had more in common with himself. While their parents, especially Ginny, pushed Quidditch onto all of them, only a few of his cousins actually learned to love Quidditch the way James did.

Before going off to Hogwarts, James did was every child of his age did and that was go shopping for school supplies. During his trip he had a beautiful experience with an owl - a snowy owl that reminded Harry so much of his own Hedwig. James ran into Scorpius Malfoy on his trip and they stared each other down after 'Scorpy,' as James called him, deliberately shouldered him. The owl mentioned previously came to James' aid and flapped a wing at Scorpius before perching on James' shoulder. Scorpius left the situation immediately, leaving James and his newfound friend, to be named Claire, alone. James also obtained a wand on the trip - an 11 1/4" Ebony w/ Dragon Scale to be exact. James was excited that his wood was made from Ebony because, according to wandlore (he was explained to, at least), the wood is supposed to be good for defensive magic and dispelling of dark magic.

Hogwarts suited James well. He was sorted into Gryffindor and made many friends there. During the summer before his third year, James attempted and succeeded in the retrieval of a mysterious map and cloak hidden in his father's study. Throughout his third year, he and his good mates traveled the secret passages that the map told of and learned their way around the school. James kept the cloak a secret from most everyone except very few, due to the fact that he thought someone might try to steal it from him. James' fourth through sixth years went off without a hitch, as well. It was during these times that he really found himself as a Quidditch player and protector of the family. In James' fifth year he came across a book about transfiguration and learned further about becoming an animagus. He decided that it was an ability that he truly wanted to learn. It took months of long, hard study but James was very committed to becoming an animagus, as was his best friend. He was successful, becoming a Black Labrador animagus. He told his father in secret, but the secret wasn't kept as Harry forced James to register with the Ministry and the information was leaked to his peers. Since then, James has been found running about the grounds in his dog form, often taking advantage of snuggling up to girls' hands. Speaking of which, he also dated many girls during that period and, frankly, had a great time with most of them.

After recently graduating Hogwarts, James has chosen his profession as an Auror, taking a derailment from Quidditch as he tries to grow into his own and become more mature instead of his obnoxious, joking self. With the disappearance of Liam Ollivander, James has taken quite the interest in what the heck is going on around him, and if he should be worried about it.
