Summer was almost over and while that meant fun and holidays for many of the students was coming to an end, it meant something a bit worse for Hagrid, who spent part of the summer vacation keeping up the grounds at Hogwarts. What it meant was the infestations of various insects. The worst so far that summer was another Chizpurfle infestation. Chizpurfles were crab-like insects that lived around the Black Lake and were attracted to magical things such as wands and potions, ruining both if they had access to them. Hagrid had whipped up a good repellent for them in the past, but he needed something a bit more permanent for them this time. And Slug and Jigger's was the place to get it. Just as the Apothecary sold items that healed those with ailments, it also sold effective items to cure any place of an insect infestations.
Hagrid walked in, smiling at and greeting many of the adults who were formerly students he knew well from their days at Hogwarts. He then stepped over and rang a bell for service. The stuff he was looking for was not sold on the shelves in the shop, but had to be asked about at the counter. Once he rang the bell, he patiently waited for help.
Hagrid waited a bit until a person was available to help him. After the customary exchange of friendly greetings, Hagrid found himself a bit confused.
"What was I in here for?" he asked himself. His eyes then beamed. "Oh yes... that's right. Got a right nasty infestation of Chizpurfles around the lake near the school. Reckon if they ain't done in, they'll make their way to the grounds and then in the castle itself and the children returnin' will have bloody terrible itchin' and scratchin' due to the lil rascals. Was wonderin' if you had somethin' a bit more effective for'em then the usual brand I buy, that bein' Madam Mitten's Rapid Repellin' Chizpurfle Repellent. Rapid yes, but sadly not permanent."
