Matt had definitely felt worn down. Granted that was probably due to him having been out in the Forbidden Forest in his wolf form, running around and just getting some exercise. He didn't play Quidditch so he didn't have much else otherwise. Granted the day had been perfect for a run in his wolf form, with there being barely any clouds and the sun was out shinning. The fact that the good weather had been too tempting to pass on had given him little reason to stay inside despite all of the homework he still had to complete. Regardless now was the time for him to get to work as he had some homework that he absolutely had to get done whether he liked it or not. He was in his 6th year now, and that meant putting as much work in as possible. His only problem was whether or not he'd stick to that when he got back to the common room.
Arriving in the common room he opted to try and get his homework out of his dorm room, which he did without concern. The inner push for further procrastination however was getting stronger even as he sat down to actually start working on the assignments that were due sooner. It was more difficult for him to deal with than he had anticipated though, as he ended up taking a break much quicker than planned. In fact, he actually stopped before he actually started, leaning back with a look of irritation on his face momentarily before he heard the portal open as someone entered the common room. He turned to see who it is, mentally sighing in defeat as he realized that his procrastination was going to win out no matter how hard he tried. He just had to minimize how long he delayed. Darach had once again discovered a book in the library that had caught his attention in full. The book was entitled Dueling Wand Forms Of The Ancient Magical World. Two of Darach's favorite things were reading and dueling with wands. So reading about the subject was the best of both worlds. He had his nose stuck in the book as he walked up the ever moving stairs. By now he had figured out how the moving stairs worked and where they went and when, so he didn't even need to look as he walked up them. He said the password to go through the portal without even looking at the picture, and then as he walked in stepped past all the furniture with ease. He then made his way over and sat in a chair. After a moment, he finally bookmarked his page and closed the book. He looked about for a moment before he saw Matt. "Ah, Matt ole fellow," he said. "I didn't see you there. You'll have to forgive me. I've been quite intrigued by this new books. Quite intriguing how different wands forms were in the Ancient World as compared to today. Wands themselves were quite different then of course. In fact, the use of dragon heartstrings as a core were actually forbidden at one time in Ancient China. Fascinating, utterly fascinating." Darach then cleared his throat a bit after going on about what he had just read. "Anyway, I highly recommend it if you have any interest in wands form and wand lore. I was thinking about doing my class paper for Professor Grimp on it." He then placed down the book and folded his hands in his lap, looking like someone twice his age. "Anyway, ole fellow, how has your evening been? Studies going well?"MATTHEW SVEN JOHANSON
