[attr="class","CVcontent3temp1"] EARLY YEARS [break]
Daphne Greengrass was born into a wealthy family. Her father, Quentin, owned a highly successful restaurant for wealthy wizards and witches, and made more than enough money so that her mother, Agatha, would not have to work. But Agatha was not one to sit about idly. She became a tutor for children ages five to ten, in other words those who were not yet able to attend Hogwarts. Among her students were Daphne and later Daphne's young sister, Astoria. Agatha's teaching methods were hard, but firm, and she instilled them into Daphne, hoping one day her daughter would become an educator as well. As a mother, she also taught Daphne a valuable lesson- strong self-importance and self-pride, and to not let anyone ever convince her otherwise. From that day forth, Daphne had a very high opinion of herself and what she could accomplish.[break][break]
BEGINNING AT HOGWARTS[break]
Daphne was sorted into Slytherin, and was proud of it. She already possessed many of the traits of being a Slytherin. She was ruthless, she was cunning, and she had a wealth of ambition. She let no one get in the way of her achieving early success in academics, which she achieved a great deal of, excelling in nearly all of her subjects. However, an unfortunate part of being a Slytherin was her finding that there were those in her own House who wanted to bring her off her high horse. She discovered lies and back-stabbing going on at her expense, even from those she called her friends. This planted the seeds of distrust in her, something that would linger inside her for her entire life. She did have two trusted friends as time went on though, one being Pansy Parkinson and the other- Theodore Nott. She knew when the world was against her, she could trust and confide in them, and had many wonderful school memories with both.[break][break]
ROMANCE AND WAR[break]
As the years at Hogwarts went on, Daphne continued to excel at her studies. Not only that, through a series of private lessons, she had learned the ability to perform certain spells without the use of a wand. As she grew more into adulthood, she would learn more and more about Wandless Magic. Also over time, her friendship with Theodore Nott grew stronger and stronger to the point that they were practically inseparable. However, because he seemed so shy to romance, she at first was satisfied with the two being good friends. But as time and their connection went on, she fell in love with him and could not deny it. It took some doing, but she finally cracked him out of his shell their Seventh Year. They began dating, and Daphne knew from there that this was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.[break]
With love came chaos in their seventh year as they found themselves witnessing the famous Battle of Hogwarts. When Theodore escaped from the dungeons after the Slytherins were escorted there, Daphne escaped as well to look for him, but did not find him in time to witness the battle between him and his father. But the fact that she was willing to go out amongst the fighting showed her courage and loyalty to the one she loved. Fortunately, she was not targeted by any dark wizards or witches who were about causing death here and there, and she left the Battle of Hogwarts unharmed.[break]
After the Battle of Hogwarts, Daphne graduated on time and with honors because of her achievements in her classes. Her N.E.W.T.S. results determined that she should be what her mother had wanted her to be... an educator.[break][break]
ENGAGEMENT AND INTERNSHIP[break]
Following her graduation, two significant things that would shape her life happened to her. First, Theodore asked her to marry him. She gladly accepted of course, as not only did she love him, but loved the very idea of having a husband and some day children she could be proud of. The second thing to happen was her internship at the Department of Magical Education. Through this, Daphne received experience both working in the Ministry and in teaching. Like her mother, she spent time instructing five to ten year old wizards and witches to prepare them for Hogwarts, and even did some teaching aid work at Hogwarts itself. Her hard work paid off as she was soon given an official job in the department and from there rapidly moved up the ranks.[break][break]
CAREER WOMAN, FAMILY WOMAN (THE PRESENT)[break]
The years have been good to Daphne. She married a wonderful husband in Theodore Nott and went on to have two magnificent children in Cole and Evelyn. As she takes pride in herself, she also takes pride in her value and teaches them the same values her mother taught her. She was pleased to learn that they were both sorted into Slytherin when they began attending Hogwarts.[break]
She also became the Head of the Department of Magical Education, further promoting her idea of self-importance. Though one of the youngest women to ever become head of the department, she is also considered by many to be the most hard working. She sees to it that all wizards and witches are receiving the proper education, and makes frequent visits to Hogwarts to see how the school is being ran. She particularly enjoys those visits because she gets to see her children when they are away from home. As a strong mother figure, she wishes to look out for their welfare whenever she can.[break]
Finally, she gained another level of influence and importance when the Notts became part of a strong political trifecta with the Malfoys and the Zabinis. Her husband is a cousin of the Malfoys, and Patsy, who is still her best friend even after school ended, married into the Zabini family. However, though she enjoys the power that comes with being in the trifecta, Daphne never hides behind it. She is a strong, independent woman who often chooses to fight her own battles, even refusing help from her own husband. Her continued distrust of most others and the fact that there are always those who seek to bring a woman like her down provide many of those battles, but Daphne Nott has become a force to be reckoned with.
