(Hope this is okay. I wanted to allow someone else to post in your thread since I was in two of yours already, but I also didn't want to leave you without someone.)
Adelina had been in the East Wing admiring the statue of Gregory The Smarmy. Adelina was not an artist herself, but she was a deep admirer of art. So whenever she had a little extra time, she traveled around the castle and admired the portraits and the statues. Some of the portraits were not so admirable though, and sometimes she even wondered what some of them were doing at Hogwarts. In fact, just the other day, a feisty teenage boy in one had a few choice words for Adelina regarding her beauty. She wasn't very flattered and was ready to give the picture a piece of her mind, only to restrain herself out of good manners.
As she walked back from seeing the statue, she noticed Ainsley Selwyn, a girl from her year, walking about and not in a very good mood. She seemed frustrated and possibly lost. The portraits weren't helping matters either. Adelina didn't know Ainsley all that well due to their different Houses, but she still found that the girl should not be so disrespected when she simply needed assistance. And Adelina was a Gryffindor after all. It was time to be brave and stand up for this girl.
"Pardon me, ladies and gentlemen," she said to those in the portrait. "But I find it quite disheartening that you all have been given the honor to be hung in such a fine educational establishment as Hogwarts, yet you show you are not worthy of such an honor by mocking this student who merely asked for your aid." A Frenchmen in one of the paintings gave her a confused look and Adelina calmly repeated what she said in fluent French. She then turned back to Ainsley.
"Good day, Ainsley," she said. "Perhaps I can be of some assistance to you."
