Dathan Burke was to The Dark Lady what his wolf Eligos was to him... a loyal dog. He would obey her every command. He would attack when ordered him to attack. And he would never question a command of hers no matter how cruel or disturbing it was. His loyalty had earned him his high rank in the Black Army, and he had no plans of losing such a rank any time soon.
Bit it wasn't just his loyalty that made him a top member of the Black Army. As owner of Borgin and Burkes, he was a man who could get things... rare and powerful things... for his Mistress. He had contact with Smugglers from all over the world- Europe, Asia, Africa, and of course The Americas. Usually if he wanted something to be found, it was found and sent to him. And Burke's bargaining skills ensured he would get the better end of the deal with the smuggler, all the while making the smuggler think the opposite. Dathan was that good and cunning a businessman.
In a suitcase in his right hand, Burke carried something of great value to the Dark Lady. In fact, two smugglers had gotten arrested, and another killed in order for him to obtain it. The surviving smuggler who brought was missing an eye and half an ear and Burke paid him a bit extra for his trouble. But it was all worth it. The object in the case would play a key role in REALLY kicking off Kiera's war, and perhaps in the end, it would spell victory for the Black Army.
Burke stepped up to the gate of the Black Army Headquarters. A large man in black guarded the gate, sitting and reading a copy of the Prophet at Burke approached.
"And what do we want this evenin', eh?" chuckled the big man. "Best be good or I'll be sendin' you back where ya came from in pieces."
"If you threaten me like that again, Rygort, it is your own welfare that you had better be concerned about," said Dathan coldly. Rygort quickly popped up and nervously opened the gate.
"P... pardon me, Mr. Burke sir," he gulped. "Our M...Mistress is expectin' you."
"I'm aware of that," said Burke as he walked past the man and towards the house.
