Philo came to the village of Hogsmeade for two reasons and two reasons only. One was to browse about the Tomes and Scrolls book shop. With the book shop being near Hogsmeade, there were always a wealth of books by famous magical philosophers and their views on Muggles- some positive and some negative. Philo was interested and reading both given his particular career. And the other, and more important reason, was to visit his very long time very best friend Claudius. The two always seemed to be on different paths, yet their friendship was legendary among those that knew them. Philo was a Ravenclaw and Claudius was a Hufflepuff, yet they instantly hit off a friendship in their first years so many decades ago and that friendship more than stood the test of time. Philo went on to become a Historian of Muggle Society, living in the magical part of London, while Claudius taught Alchemy at Hogwarts ad had obviously lived in the castle more of the year. Yet their differing career paths hardly kept them from still hanging out a good many times of the year. and even occasionally vacationing together when they could. Today, it was just about getting together for a drink or two or five at the Hog's Head Inn. Nothing special, but Philo knew the two aging pals would have a splendid time and share what had been happening in their crazy lives with one another. They always did. Even when the two men debated, they had an enjoyable time. Philo stepped in and the bartender greeted him. "Hello, Mr. Greengrass," said the man with a smile. "The usual? And I assume Professor Snug will be joining you." "Yes, my boy," smiled Philo as he sat at the bar. "The usual ale and he will indeed." CLAUDIUS FREDRICK SNUG

Claudius Frederick Snug had devoted his life to molding the minds of young wizards. He was a bachelor even now in his seventies and during the school year he wasn't lonely. He was busy teaching, and he saw the children as his own. However during the weekends ad the summer, Snug felt the sting of loneliness. Which is why he was incredibly grateful to his oldest friend for continuing to be a great friend and despite Philo having a family and a career in the ministry he always made time for Snug.
Snug walked into the bar and spotted his old friend at the bar, so he headed right over to him. "It's good to see you old man" he said playfully greeting his best friend. "Thank you for ordering for me. Would have even here sooner but I had to instruct a young lad on proper prank etiquette" he said with a smile.
