Jade felt she had made the right decision switching her waitress job at The Three Broomsticks to the bartender position that was vacated shortly after she had graduated from Hogwarts. The job paid a bit more and she had a bit more control over who and who didn't give her hell than she did as a waitress. Plus for the most part mixing drinks was fun, along with the fact that behind the bar she couldn't actually have an occasional drink herself... and now and then even bring a free bottle of something home for her and Ronan, her twin brother and best friend. The only guy who she ever truly trusted in general. However, that didn't mean she always had it easy. Some long and busy nights took it out of her. She had to deal with the masses, and of course the trouble-makers and dirty-minded young wizards who seemed to make regular appearances. And this particular night she had to deal with all of that. Jade walked in with her eyes half open and with a bottle of tequila in her right hand. Tequila was a Muggle liquor the Three Broomsticks was able to get in now and then, and Jade found it quite enjoyable. She had to fork over some money to take it home that night, but given how she felt, it would be worth it. She also had some wings and chips for her and Ronan. "Ronan, I'm home!" she yelled as she plopped down on the couch. "Bring some glasses in here. I brought the good stuff." Jade then placed a cigarette in her mouth and lit it up. As she did so, she looked around the place. The small house she and Ronan were able to buy when they moved to Hogsmeade wasn't much to look out, inside or out, but it was far better then where they had lived most of their lives. And really the important thing was that she and her brother were together, just the two of them, which was also far better considering the monsters they left back in Ireland. RONAN ALEXANDER FYLAN

Ronan had spent the day cleaning out the owlery. Some owls had gotten a bit mischevious and had a grande ol time messing up the place and with it being the end of summer it was almost time for students of Hogwarts to return which meant that more owls would be coming through so it was time to get the place cleaned up nicely anyway.
It was a long day and after a nice shower Ronan had laid down to take a nap hoping to be up in time to greet his sister at the door. The sound of the door stirred him awake and he got up and walked out of his room in time to hear Jade ask him to bring some glasses. He smiled. "Sounds good." he said as he went to the cupboard where they werekeeping the glasses and grabbed a couple before bringing them over to the coffee table. "How was your night?" he asked lighting up a cig of his own.

It was nights like this that made all the crap Jade had gone through, and her brother Ronan along with her, worth it. Again, the first part of their lives were harsh with abusive Pureblood parents who treated them more like House Elves than children. When they went too far, that was when Jade and Ronan left for good. They took enough money to make a down payment on the house while they finished up at Hogwarts. They of course spent part of the year at Hogwarts in the Slytherin Dorms and the other part at the house. By the time they graduated, they had saved enough to own the place. The tips Jade had gotten being bartender definitely came in handy. Granted she had to flirt a bit more at times, but it paid off. It wasn't the nicest house in the wizarding village, but it was home. And it was theirs. Jade smiled when Ronan walked in with the glasses. She saw him every day, but she never grew tired of seeing him. He meant more to her than anyone in her life. "Well hello there," she said. "You look like hell. So do I. But then again, we're supposed to be twins, aren't we?" She filled the glasses and then chanted a spell to chill them. "Tequila, dear brother. Like I said, the good stuff."Jade then shrugged when Ronan asked how her night was. "Same as bloody always," she said before taking a sip of her drink. "Same crowd, same creeps. Just some of them are a bit younger due to the beginning of the new school term. Some of the students are cute though, how they try to flirt with me. They're harmless so I let it slide." She then looked at him before blowing some smoke out. "What about you? Any fun post office stories?"RONAN ALEXANDER FYLAN

Ronan chuckled when Jade said that he looked like hell, and then that she did too. "Well, speak for yourself dear sister. I roll out of bed looking like absolute trash and still manage to be devilishly handsome." He joked. He picked up one of the glasses that Jade enchanted and took a sip. "Well it's no butterbeer, but it hits the spot." He joked.
He frowned when she mentioned that it was the same crowd and creeps as it always was. "Well, if any of them get out of hand, you make sure to let me know." he said. "I'm sorry for being so overprotective of you sis, but it worries me you working there." he said with a frown before taking a drag of his cigarette.
As she asked him how his night was he finished off his cigarette and put it out. "Well, school is about to start up so it was the deep cleaning day, and someone quit a few weeks ago so I had to work a double. I don't mind it really, gives me something to do, but those owls can really make a mess." he said. "Though they do make good company." he joked.

Jade stared at her brother for a moment after his comment about managing to look devilishly handsome, and then smiled a little. "Fine, you look alright... for a twin brother..." she said, joking in return. She the rolled her eyes when Ronan said it wasn't butterbeer, but it would do. "Oh please, if I see another glass of Butterbeer, I'm going to yarp. That's all the Sixth and Seventh Years want to order there. They think they're really something by drinking a beverage with just a little alcohol in it. Just and I have been drinking firewhiskey since we lived..." She stopped there. She did not want to go on about their mother and father. As far as she was concerned, her parents were dead to her. She guessed that Ronan felt much the same. "Well, we were certainly drinking it when we were Sixth Years."Jade smiled at her brother when he showed his concern about the creeps bothering her, but then shook her head. "I'm fine, trust me," she said. "There's plenty who work there who ensure it's a safe work environment. That and the real trouble happens at the Hog's Head Inn. That's where the bloody loonies go to have their drinks. I walked over there a few days ago because we needed to borrow a few things due to a late stock, and old Grimp was in there, smashed off his rocker on Quintin Black and arguing with a man about horse saddles or some rubbish. I think I took the mickey out of him with I laughed."
Jade nodded about the owls. She remembered a rather large one they had of their own a while back. Jade dreaded the time she had to clean his cage. "You have your owls and me," she said. "What more could you want?"RONAN ALEXANDER FYLAN
