The Battle Of Hogwarts had just ended. It was the violent and chaotic finale of the Second Wizarding War. At the end of the darkness of the past few years had come light. Voldemort was destroyed, his army fled, and the world of magic was at peace again. Many in the Wizarding World were not celebrating and cleaning up the mess the Dark Lord and all his minions had made. It was a time for joy and a time to begin again. But that was not the case with everyone. The Battle of Hogwarts cost many their lives, and through that caused many more to lose family and good friends. For many there was indeed joy, but for many others there was sorrow. And yes while it was a time to begin again, it was also a time to remember the fallen, and to pay final respects. One of those who was taking it especially hard was George Weasley. He had lost both family and friend. In fact his twin brother, Fred, was his best friend. The two were rarely ever seen apart from one another. The were a devious, daring, dynamic duo who had pulled off some of the finest pranks of all time... and had some of the most outrageous adventures. There was the time they stole their dad's car to save Harry Potter from his uncle and aunt. Then of course their days as Beaters on the Quidditch Pitch. Gaining possession of the Marauder's Map. Scaring the bloody hell out of Dolores Umbridge. Opening their own joke shop. And yes... finally the Battle of Hogwarts. For every significant thing George ever did in his life, Fred was there with him... and now he was gone. George sat in his room at the Burrow and stared at a photo by his bed. It was a moving photo of he and Fred goofing off. George smiled just a little, but not one of his usual cheeky smiles. His smile and seemingly calm demeanor was deceived by the sadness in his eyes. Nothing in the past couple of weeks had been easy for any of the members of the Weasley Clan. The battle had stolen from them not only family, but friends as well. Everyone was still sad and stressed and life still seemed as quiet and uncomfortable as it had been before the battle had been won. Everyone still seemed like they were trying to tiptoe around the sad and uncomfortable issues and were just trying to make the best of the new situation. Yeah, it was true that the war was over and the peace of the wizarding world had been restored. But those who lost a loved on in the war were still waiting for the light to come back into their lives.
Ginny hadn't seen George at all that day, so she walked up to his bedroom, the one that he used to share with Fred, and she peeked in. The door was open so she didn't feel so bad about spying. George was sitting on his bed staring at an older photo of him and his twin. Ginny bit her lip as she took in the sight. Life was never going to be the same now that they were one Weasley short. Ginny knocked on the door frame gently before she walked in and went to sit by him, lacing her arm through his and leaning her head on his shoulder, looking at the photo as well. She didn't know what to say. No one knew what to say. Having lost a brother was hard on everyone. But she couldn't imagine the amount of pain that George was feeling. Fred was a big part of him. He had been a big part of everyone.

Arthur was about to go mad. As patient and good-natured as he normally was, he was already growing weary of everyone and their sibling coming by to congratulate the family on their big victory in the Battle of Hogwarts. So many people wanted to celebrate the death of Voldemort and the fall of his army, as well as the Ministry being cleansed of Dark Wizards and Dark Witches again, but there was no celebration in the Burrow. There was no swelling of pride at what had been done. There was only mourning in the Burrow. Friends had been lost, and more significant to Arthur Weasley- a dear son had been lost. Fred drove him bonkers at times, but he loved Fred as much as he did all his children. And now there was a hole in his heart. He wanted all his children to survive him, to grow up, have children of their own some day, and be there at Arthur's funeral to hopefully remember him as a good husband, father, and grandfather (pending some of them did indeed have children.)
Arthur watched as his sole daughter Ginny walked up to to George's room. It touched his heart that she went in to comfort him. He knew Fred and George had tried to take the mickey out of Ginny on a number of occasions. For her to get past that and to want to be with him showed what an amazing character his sweet girl had. He was not surprised that Harry had fallen for her to begin with, but this truly showed why a noble young wizard like Harry Potter would fall in love with one like his daughter.
After a bit, Arthur himself walked up to the room. A tear poured from his right eye when he saw the scene of Ginny next to George and his son looking at the photo.
"Fred's death was not in vain," he said. "Above all else, we must remember that today." He wasn't sure how comforting those words would be at the moment, but it was what came to his mind.

Normally whenever someone showed him some affection, George would return it, but then spout out some goofy line. However, when Ginny walked in and placed her arm around him and rested her head on her shoulder, he said nothing at first. He simply looked at the photo a bit more. Finally he spoke, and what he said was hardly anything to poke fun at his little sister. In fact his voice was quite serious and solemn. "It's okay, really, isn't it?" he said as he looked over the photo. "I'm sure he's with Lupin and Tonks and Sirius and Old Mad Eye, probably having Butterbeers and a million laughs. I bet he's probably taking the mickey out of Moody again right now." George sighed and quickly wiped a tear before looking over at Ginny. "I bet he's happy where he is. No more worries that go with this bloody mad world."
He then turned as his father came in and gave a comforting word. George missed his brother dearly, but he couldn't forget that Ginny, Ron, Percy, Bill, and of course his mother and father missed him dearly as well. Fred was his twin, but he was close to all of them. He turned and looked at his dad, nodded, and then turned back to the photo. "Heard that a lot today, dad," he said regarding how Fred died doing what was right. "Fred Weasley the fallen hero. I don't think even he believed he'd ever go out like that. He and I swore we would go out because of some big prank gone wrong. Looks like we were mis..." And then George suddenly couldn't go on. He broke down into a sob, laying the photo down and embracing his sister for comfort. Arthur joined them and hugged both his children. GINEVRA MOLLY POTTER

Being both the youngest child and the only girl in the family, Ginny was used to being the one that all of her brothers poked fun at. However, she knew that when she needed her brothers to be there for her for protection and support, she knew that they would always be there for her; and, she would always be there for them of course. She had a different and special relationship with each of her brothers and of course, there wasn't one that she was closer to, but if one of them needed her more than the others did, she made sure to take extra care of that one. And currently, it was George who needed comfort. Their mother had always instilled the importance of family into Ginny and the other children and had taught her than while her brothers would often tease her, there would always come a time when they would need her most. Now, she thought, was when George needed her.
"I don't think that he would want us to be sad for him." Ginny said in a whisper when her father sat down and joined them. While she loved spending time with her mother, she was and would always be just as much of a daddies girl. She gave her fathers had a squeeze then wrapped her arms around George when he embraced her. She hated to see her brother cry. It was heartbreaking. But her heart was already broken. And while she knew that Fred wouldn't want them to be sad over his death, there was no way for it to be okay and accepted until after they had all dealt with it in their own way. "I bet he and Sirius are swapping jokes left and right. How much do you want to bet the two of them annoy Lupin to no end?" She asked with a small smile. It was a nice thought. Sad. But nice.

Molly stood outside George's door listening in to her children and her husband talking. She stayed outside and just listened for a good while. Not able to move as she listened to them talk about him and the others who had died during the past few years with Voldemort back to try and take over the world. He was gone now, defeated, dead, hopefully for good this time.
Molly had been keeping herself busy during the daylight hours, a lot of cleaning and cooking and making sure everyone was comfortable. To anyone who seen her it would appear the Weasley Matriarch was back to her usual self.
However, her son's death and the battle had taken a toll on Mrs. Weasley. She felt exhausted and found herself close to tears at any given moment, and given reminder of her Fred. And truthfully in the middle of the night when she tossed and turned in bed she would go for a little walk outside, far enough away so no one could hear before she finally broke down into tears.
However, she was a mother to 6 other children, and a wife. They had lost their son, their brother too. So in front of her family she vowed not to cry, vowed to make sure they could get through all of this. So when she stopped to hear the others talking it caught her off guard and tears began to stream down.
She wiped them away quickly and cleared her throat before stepping in. "Lupin will have his hands full for sure with those two." she said giving a weak smile.
