Professor Zerod Grimp was seen as a lot of things due to his teaching style and general personality. He was a bit intimidating, even a bit scary. He was tough on the students and as Slytherin Head of House, he kept a close eye on said House. Many didn't like him, and for the most part, Grimp didn't really care if they did or not. Some were so put off by Grimp, upon first encountering him and having classes with him, they assumed he could very well be a dark wizard... or could have been at one time anyway. The truth was underneath the gruff exterior, Grimp was a good and noble man. He had never been and never would be a dark wizard. In fact he despised them and their dark magic with every fiber of his being. For decades he was an Auror, loyal to the Ministry. Hr fought well for them, and with his help, many dark wizards and dark witches were put away in Azkaban. Unfortunately, his career as an Auror ended when a dark witch named Cora Veltrino cursed his leg before he finally managed to take her down and lock her away as well. Grimp genuinely wanted to aid students as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. He wanted them to be prepared when they went out into the world, and that was why he was so hard on them in his classes. Now, with the recent news about Liam Ollivander, he wanted to make sure the students were safe and able to defend themselves. Being a member of the legendary Order of the Phoenix, he was of course not only concerned about those in his House, but all the students at Hogwarts, as well as every good wizard and witch in their world. Grimp decided it was best to meet individually with all the Heads of Houses. He sent Professor Snug, the Charms Professor and Head of Hufflepuff House, an owl to meet him in his office following his meeting with Ravenclaw House's Professor Walker. CLAUDIUS FREDRICK SNUG

Claudius Snug was sitting in his room going over lesson plans, yes even the great prankster professor taught actual lessons and lessons that he planned out and put a lot of effort into. As he sat writing he found himself stirred from his thoughts by an owl flying in and landing on his desk. He reached into his top desk drawer to produce an owl treat to give to the owl before taking the note. "Thank you." he said smiling at the owl before unrolling the note to read it. It was from Professor Grimp, which he thought curious.
He patted the owl on the head gently. "Feel free to finish the treat before you return." he said to the owl before standing and making his way to Professor Grimp's office. It wasn't long before he was at the door and he knocked. "Zerod I've come as per your request." he called through Grimp's door.

(Similar to the conversation with Walker here, but the same things being discussed, so should be alright.) When Grimp earned Professor Snug knock, he grabbed his cane to get up and walk over to answer it. His bad leg made it harder and harder to walk as he got older, but he never complained about having to. He made his way over and answered the door, then motioned for Snug to take a seat before he sat down himself. "Ja, Professor Sbug, I wanted to see you," he said in his strong German accent. While some of the Professors called each other by their first names when they weren't around the students, Grimp usually stuck to official titles, an old habit from his days in the Ministry, as well as his upbringing in a small wizarding village near Hamburg, Germany. "I would offer you tea, but the House Elves have been granted a brief holiday before school begins and I did not care to go down and get the pot myself." Grimp then pulled out a bottle of Quintin Black and two glasses. "Besides, given the nature of the discussion we are about to have, perhaps this will be more appropriate, ja?" Grimp filled his own glass, then moved the bottle and the other glass over to Walker. "Now to business," said Grimp. "You are no doubt aware of the recent incident with Liam Ollivander in Diagon Alley. While the Ministry is trying to put if off as an isolated incident that will be taken care, I am far too old and have seen far too much to agree. When there is a spark during peace time, a flame usually follows and spreads, and this one has every potential of spreading to Hogwarts. As Head of Slytherin, I feel it is necessary to take extra precautions with my House this year. As Head of Hufflepuff, I suggest you do the same, professor."CLAUDIUS FREDRICK SNUG

Snug opened the door and walked over to the empty chair on the other side of Grimp's desk and took a seat. "Tea is grand but Liquor is quicker." He said, basically saying he was happy with the choice in drink. He rarely got an invite from his coworker Professor Grimp, and knowing the other professor's personality he was sure it was going to be a serious talk and that some alcohol would probably be needed to take the edge off of the conversation.
"Ah yes, the catastrophe with Mr. Olivander" he said when Grimp got down to business. "I understand what you're saying professor but what methods do you suggest we put in place that are not already there?" He asked pouring himself a drink and taking a good swig.

Professor Walker, the Ravenclaw Head of House, had turned down Grimp's offer for spirits, so the old man was pleased that Snug had cheerfully agreed to a drink. He knew Snug well, and also knew Snug's best friend, Philotus Greengrass. He always found the two men to be a strange duo, and wondered if they were actually two young men who had placed an aging spell on themselves. Grimp almost wanted to laugh at what he had said about liquor, but the situation was not one to engage in merriment over. After Grimp filled his glass again (he had enjoyed some with Walker despite the other instructor turning it down), he motioned for Snug to help himself. It was no surprise that Snug was well aware of the incident with Ollivander. Any wizard and witch not living under a cursed boulder knew about the situation. Both the Ministry and the Daily Prophet had of course been all over it. Grimp could also understand what Snug said about many precautions already being in place. Yes, Hogwarts had always taken measures to protect its students. But they had been living in peace time for so long, and some of those measures had been relaxed over the years. "Ja, the school has done well over time. I cannot argue with that," he said. "However, it has been some time since the school, or anyone, had dealt with a threat with such dark potential as this one. And we can use protection spells and have moving statues protect us all day, but when it comes down to it... the students must be prepared for the worse themselves. And to do that, all the Houses must use those traits which they have been gifted with. Hufflepuffs are loyal, ja? So through loyalty you must show them how there is strength in numbers. They are hard working? Stress to them how important it is to take in what they learn in their courses." CLAUDIUS FREDRICK SNUG
