Lucas was orphaned at a very young age and was adopted by pureblood parents who were both very kind and somewhat rich. They are also muggle-supporters which is why they had no issue with taking in a half-blood child as their own. He was raised to be kind and tolerant, though he was somewhat strictly raised which (along with the whole being adopted thing), pushed Lucas to act out and he became a prankster and joker.
Especially once he got to Hogwarts during his first year. He became friends with a few other first years, becoming sort of the clown of the group. He constantly played pranks on everyone, though light-hearted fun jokes as opposed to hurtful and just plain mean sort of jokes.
He was and is just a lovable fun prankster guy. He never got into Quidditch or anything like that but ended up being pretty athletic due to him constantly having to run away from teachers due to pranks going wrong and not wanting to get into trouble.
Now that he is in his last year of Hogwarts he is thinking a lot about what he wants to go on to in the future. He has no clue what he wants to become after Hogwarts and is frantically searching for that one job/career that he really wants to do, which has him playing around more often to keep himself from feeling down about his future. Especially with his less than stellar grades.
