Claudius Fredrick Snug was born the oldest of 6. He was every bit the serious and responsible older brother, having to take care of his younger siblings during the summer since his parents both had jobs. When he started into Hogwarts his siblings would often stay with friends of his parents. He loved Hogwarts, it was a place he could relax and be an irresponsible kid. He started becoming the class clown who liked to pull pranks while at school. Going back home he was serious and responsible again of course. As he and his siblings grew older they grew apart, his siblings were upset with him for the level of strictness he put on them. They eventually understood of course, especially as he grew up and embraced both his strict side and his fun pranking side.
At Hogwarts he met and befriended Philo Greengrass. He was sorted in to the Hufflepuff house and Philo was sorted into Ravenclaw, but they became friends and hung out whenever they could despite being from different houses. They became best friends, and stayed best friends even as they grew older. Claudius realized that he needed to find a better balance between how he was while at school and how he was with his siblings at home. Especially when a prank during his last year caused someone to get seriously injured. So he continues to do light-hearted pranks and is fun, planning lessons that are more on the fun side to engage the students. However, he also learned when to be strict and how to handle troubled students so that he became a respectable teacher who is fun when he needs to be but strict when he has to be. He continues to spend time hanging out with his best friend during his free time at Hogwarts. He became the alchemy professor when he was about 26. He took part in the 2nd wizard war though a small part with protecting the younger students and shepherding them out. He got along well with Professor Sprout who was around the same age and from the same house and she put his name up for becoming the head of house upon her retirement as he showed to be a well-respected teacher as well as responsible enough to run the house despite having a tendency to be a prankster. She believed he would do well as the Hufflepuff head of house.
