So, as several on here know, I live in Hawaii, though I've never actually specified where - which is actually Hilo. The reason I bring this up is that we're a little under 15 miles from where the lava flow is right now in Pāhoa. That's actually a pretty substantial amount of difference where lava is concerned, but they did put us on alert today to at least have emergency plans and luggage packed if indeed it comes down to them calling an evacuation. I've lived here most of my life and we've seen lava flows on other islands in the past, so I'd say it's only about a 10% at best chance that evacuation gets called for, but I'm just letting folks know ahead of time that if I suddenly disappear for longer than about 2 or so days (at least without checking in in the cBox), this may have been what's occurred.

If we are evacuated, it'll likely just be a week (highball estimate) before I can get back into the flow of things, since we'll likely just relocate to my parents' place on the other side of the island (it just also means a longer commute to work for me as well as whatever the heck my nephew's school decides to do in the event of an evacuation that'll need to be accounted for).
