[attr="class","CVcontent3temp1"] Darach was born the youngest child of Scottish Wizard and Quidditch Superstar Oliver Wood and and Muggle woman Alice Wood. Darach had a good bit in common with his father, including the man's courage and chivalry toward women. Darach was very charming and well mannered, and actually acted more mature than most boys his age. However, there was one big difference between Darach and his father... Darach could not stand Quidditch. He grew tired of hearing about it in his home all the time, and having to attend his father's games. And course he had to hear about it from everyone regarding how cool it was to Oliver's son.[break]
The light at the end of the tunnel was that Oliver allowed his son to follow his own path, never pressuring him to like the game. Darach respected his father for that, and the two became closer because of it. Darach had several interests of his own- reading (mostly fiction), bird-watching (both magical and non-magical), and most of all, wand dueling. He got into the latter his Second Year when dueling was taught as part of his Defense Against The Dark Arts Class..[break]
Because he shared his father's courage and chivalry, it was no surprise that he was sorted into Gryffindor his first year. Once he established that he wasn't planning to try out for Quidditch, most of the students stopped taking the mickey out of him about it and he made quite a few good mates..[break]
Now in his Fourth Year, Darach has already involved himself in a number of clubs, including the Dueling Club, the Book Club, and Care of Magical Creatures Club. He has become a frequent visitor to Hagrid's hut as the Half-Giant has introduced him to a number of strange and fascinating birds over the years. And finally, due to his natural charm, Darach has become a bit of a hit with the female students..[break]
