i was told i should write in one of these things because they're supposed to help you get things off your chest? something like that? i don't know, but i'm going to try it.[break][break]
you see, i was born to parents that loved me unconditionally and for five years of my life, everything seemed as though it would be perfect. well, minus the fact my father was a werewolf. apparently he was attacked during the battle of hogwarts and was bitten by one. so, yeah... that makes me half of one! but the good thing is, i never shift. so technically i'm pretty normal. i just have the gene roaming around inside of me. fun, right? anyway, when i was five years old, my world was turned upside down. late one night, it started with a broken window and then the door was busted in. my parents had left their room, my father going down the hall to the stairs, while my mother went to my room to tell me to hide. down the hall from my door i heard crashes and saw flashes of light. my mother ran from my room and despite being told to hide, i was at my door. peeking from behind the wooden frame, i could see everything that was happening. my eyes watched as my mother went down and then my father. at that point i knew to hide. the sounds of crashing covered the pattering of my feet as i ran to my bedside and slid myself beneath. i don't know whether i was lucky or not that they didn't check to see if anyone else was there. is that bad to say?[break][break]
i stayed there. for two days straight, i stayed under my bed, curled up and terrified. when my grandparents on my mother's side had grown impatient due to the lack of answer to their letter, they decided to journey to our house. first i heard my grandma scream when she saw their bodies. then it was my grandfather calling out my name, seeing as i was no where to be found. i couldn't move though. i was petrified, staring into nothing. finally the bed sheets flew up and my grandfather's misty eyes were looking at me. he pulled me from beneath the bed and the next thing i knew, i was living with them.[break][break]
now i know what you're probably thinking. 'oh, she has someone to care for her. she'll be alright.' no. it wasn't that way at all. yes, i'm thankful i had someone to go to rather than being stuck in an orphanage. after all, my father's parents died before i was born. but my mother's parents weren't the friendliest. they were hard to get along with and might i say they pulled themselves out of grieving pretty darn fast. and they expected me to do the same! how could i do that? i lost my parents. they're gone and i'm never going to see them again. i bet my father's parents were nice. i bet they would understand. the stories he told me of them were amazing and they were very accepting of his magical abilities. i wish i could live with them.[break][break]
but, life went on and i had to deal with it. my break came when i received my hogwarts acceptance letter. i was so excited! it meant that i would be able to get out of my grandparent's overbearing household. i was sorted into ravenclaw, which only made me happier. i had heard good things about that house and i felt it suit me well. though, i can say i'm not the typical ravenclaw. i do love to read and i study as hard as i can to make good marks. however, i have a really good social life. i mean, it didn't start out that way though. my first two years i was the stereotypical ravenclaw. my nose was always in books. i was always doing my homework and i never missed a class. everything was about school. but i was still learning to grieve properly and i was still having nightmares. in fact, i still do to this day. but i've opened up more. a lot more. i love to hang out with people and make new friends. i love to just goof off and have fun. sometimes i even tease the teachers. granted, they don't always take it well, but it's still hilarious. but yeah, i'm in my fifth year now and i guess i can say i'm doing pretty well. can someone at least save me from holidays though?[break][break]
it would be ever so kind. thanks,[break][break]
