(Note: This doesn't really have to have a posting order as different conversations will be had by different characters. Just be mindful that whatever character(s) you are addressing gets a chance to reply. Also, obviously the entire family has not been picked yet by members, so we can simply imply the rest are there.) The end of the summer was always a sad time for Arthur. Many of his beloved grandchildren were about to once again head off for school and he wouldn't see them for months. True he would come and visit whenever he could, but it wasn't the same as being able to just pop by whenever he wished and see them or having them come by the Burrow which was of course possible in the summer and the winter holidays. While Arthur loved that he could see his children, in-laws, and older grandchildren almost any time he wanted to, his younger grandchildren made he himself feel young and he certainly felt different with them not around. The end of summer was also a special time though. Before the younger ones went off to school, the Potters and Weasleys had a big lunch. It was a chance for Arthur and Molly to see everyone together one last time before Christmas. There was nothing more important than family to the Weasleys after all- nothing. Arthur, excited as always for these things, was making sure everything was set and prepared. He wanted all smiles form his family when they came in. He, like his wife, was a rather tidy person in general those days. Even his room of silly inventions and Muggle things he had bought was tidier than it once was. His bulldog, Mad-Eye, was of course there near him, watching and knowing there was going to be a big visit. But the docile canine didn't show quite as much outward excitement as his master. It was starting to sink in that the end of summer no longer meant a new year at Hogwarts for Rose Weasley. Instead, it would mark another year she would send her brother and younger cousins off. It wasn't a secret that the recently graduated Weasley was going to miss it, all of it. The train, the meeting friends again, the activities and classes. No longer would she be in the castle that held so many memories for her. When she had found out her grandparents were holding the annual lunch, she couldn't decide whether to go or not. Sure, it would have been wrong for her not to, but she knew it was going to be painful listening to the younger ones talking about going off to Hogwarts when she wanted to go too.
Still, Rose had a new life now. She had an quaint apartment of her own, and a job that she was excited to start. Things were looking up for the girl and she was ecstatic to see what was to come. It would be weird at first, living alone and having a real job, but she knew she could handle it. She was Rose Weasley, daughter of Ron and Hermione after all.
Upon arriving to the Burrow, Rose knocked on the door before entering, a genuine smile gracing her lips and lighting up her features. It was always a pleasure to see those she loved. It seemed as though she was one of the first ones there, as the only ones in sight were her grandparents. But maybe some others were around the place. "Hello!" She said, as she walked further into the cozy home. "I'm not too early am I?" Rose asked curiously, hoping she had gotten the time right. She wondered when some of her other family members would show.

One thing Albus had grown quite accustomed to over the years was the large amount of family get-togethers that were held. They were held when the students came home from Hogwarts for the summer, when the students were about to return to Hogwarts for the autumn, and of course over the winter holiday. He knew that long after he graduated, he would be helping to uphold the traditions every year, probably until he was as old as his grandparents. But Albus really didn't mind. Even though he could act more like it at time, he loved his family, each and everyone of them. He especially loved his grandparents. They had meant the world to him growing up and still did. As he walked up, he saw that Rose had arrived just before him. She knocked on the door before entering, which was more than he usually did. He had been at the Burrow so much, he took just walking in for granted at times... and at times it didn't turn out to be the best idea. He probably should have taken a page out of Rose's book and announced his arrival some time ago. Albus smiled when Rose asked if she was too early. "Don't fret, dear cousin," he chuckled. "I'm here as well so you don't have to feel completely awkward." Being a quiet and often serious young man, the joke wasn't verbally carried out well. "Ahem... so how is the Ministry treating you? Strange that you're not getting back on the train with me this year... not that I saw you all that often once we got off of it."Albus was a bit glum on the fact that he didn't see his siblings or cousins as often during the school year due to being in Slytherin. He had his mates of course, but it still bothered him a bit. Albus smiled again when he saw his grandfather, hugging Arthur. He then pet Mad-Eye and then looked in the kitchen upon smelling the food cooking. ROSE MINERVA WEASLEY

Do you remember when we learned how to fly? We'd play make-believe we were young and had time on our side. Hugo had spent the night at the burrow the night before. This was the last family gathering that would really take place before the school year, and he liked to take advantage of his time with his family. After all, there is nothing more important than family and friends. He knew cooking would soon be waking him up, so he kept his eyes closed as if to be sleeping, until he would smell the food.
While he stayed put in bed, his mind began reliving memories of the summer. This was the last real summer for he and Rose to be kids. She was moving on to a new apartment, a career, and becoming an adult. This made him slightly sad. He wouldn't have his sister around during the school year. Sure, he would have all of his cousins, but it was different when she was around. She was a lot closer to Rose than he was to any other family member. Though, he soon remembered that without her there he would probably rely and depend on her less. That would be good for him. It would also allow more of a sense of individuality. He would cherish today, and keep the idea that this was the last childhood memory Rose would get to make with him.
As he anticipated the smell of food, something came prior. There was a small knock on the door and he heard feet shuffling to the door. He got up out of bed, his hair in a scraggly mess of how he had put it up yesterday--and every other day of his life. He was wearing his jammies, but had to pull his shirt on before descending down the numerous stairs and walked into the kitchen. He peered through the front windows and noticed Rose and Albus had shown up. It certainly wouldn't be a shock that Hugo was there already, every year he spends the night before it seems. It was a thing he started around 8 and it just stuck.
He watched as his grandparents opened up the door, he put his hands in his hair with his elbows out, stretching his arms and yawning. A lovely sight, Hugo. Just woke up, very disordered at the moment. Still kind of in a rubbing your eyes haze, even though it was almost noon. "Heeeey." He said-though the tone was unsure as it was through his yawn. Assume-ably cheerful, he laughed toward the end of his yawn.

Normally, Ginny had to rush her children out of the house for these family gatherings at the burrow. There were quiet a few of them over the year and it was important for Ginny that her family was there. It was weird to her thinking that everyone of her brothers and herself each had their own family now. Sure, they were still one big family, but branching off of each Weasley Sibling, there were more little Weasley Siblings. Everyone had multiplied and it just made family gatherings all the more chaotic. As much as Ginny loved weddings, she wasn't exactly looking forward to another Weasley wedding just because of the amount of people who would be in attendance.
Ginny ran around the house to collect her two children that still lived at home. After not having found either of them, Ginny shrugged, assuming that maybe they had already left. She picked up the trey of cakes she had left waiting on the coffee table and then apperated out of her house and to her family home: The Burrow.
She let out a small sigh of relief when she saw that one her children was already there, if Albus had made the decision to come on his own, she wasn't worried about Lily not making it. James, however, she couldn't speak for. She could tell Albus and Lily that they had to come to the gathering and there was no If, Ands, or Buts about it. But James wasn't her baby anymore. He was fully grown and living on his own, she couldn't tell him what to do as easily. "Hello everybody!" Ginny smiled in a sing-song voice as she joined the party, setting the cakes down on the counter where her mother had set up the rest of the food. "Hi dad." She hugged her father, making sure to give him a kiss on the cheek. Her dad had always tied with her Husband as her Hero. "Rose, look at you, you look so lovely." Ginny insisted and kissed her nice on the head. Like her James, Rose was all grown up and working on her own. Nothing made Ginny feel older. "Nice job getting here before me, Al." Ginny teased her son and little but kissed him as well. While Ginny loved all of her children equally, she always felt worse for Albus. He had been in his brothers shadow like she had been in the shadow of all of her brothers, she would have felt just as bad for Lily, but Lily had been sorted into Gyrffindor with the rest of the family, Al had been mostly on his own. Ginny always had a bit of a soft spot for the young man. "Hey Hugo, don't you look refreshed." She laughed a bit and kissed the boy on his head as well.

To Arthur:
When George walked in, Mad Eye growled just a little at him, though the dog was far from vicious. he just wasn't as fond of George as he was of many of the others.
"Look at you, growling and drooling, just like the first Mad-Eye," smirked George. Arthur shot him a look about that and George just nodded to him. "Dad."
At Rose:
George then smiled at his niece.
"Hello Rose," he said. "So I see you took on a job at the Ministry. Which one forced you into that first, your mum or your dad?" He then hugged her. "Don't worry. I'm still proud of you."
At Albus:
George had walked in just in time to hear Albus lament about Rose not joining him on the train this year.
"Chin up, old boy," he said. "You only have one more year and you'll get to be as miserable as the rest of us Alumni."
At Hugo:
George gave his nephew Hugo a mock frown.
"Now don't tell me you stayed over here last night," he said. "Last time I did that, I memorized dad's snoring note by note."
Arthur shot George another look.
"Relax, dad," he said. "Just taking the mickey out of you while I can. Once mum finds out what I'm doing, all bets are off."
To Ginny:
Finally George looked over at his younger sister and smirked. Even at his age, he still picked on Ginny and Ron. No one ever accused George Weasley of truly growing up.
"And here's Ginny, my favorite sister... though you're my only sister," he said. "Does that make you my least favorite as well? Oh well, love you anyway I suppose." George then looked into the kitchen. "Mum, where the bloody hell are you? I'm here so we can eat now."

Louis had been gotten distracted with sketching and working out and was little later than he wanted to be to the burrow. he was pretty sure that he was still making good time in his arrival. He smiled his usual crooked smile He smiled as he arrived at and walked into the Burrow. He heard some of his family already there. He looked around as he saw some of his cousins, his aunt Ginny and grandpa and said " Hi Everyone!" He hugged his grandpa and pet mad eye a bit.
He wasn't sure what else to say. He was never the most talkative person. if found sitting somewhere quietly, he would likely be in his mind more than he was outwards.Actually he was like that no matter how or where he was unless given a reason to not do so. He remembers times where he was so wrapped up in his mind that someone who wanted to talk to him would say his name or be trying to get his attention for a few minutes.
Right now he was wearing his usual button-up shirt with sleeves rolled up to his elbows and a pair of jeans. He also had a new jacket on over his shirt but it was unzipped. He had took it off as he entered the burrow. He kept hold of it out of habit as he looked around. He could smell the food cooking in the kitchen. he looked at the kitchen for a few moment before looking away and back at his family, who were here. He didn't get to talk to them all like he wanted or should. He tried to his best to keep in touch but the best time to see them all was during Family gatherings like theses. He always had a great time at these gatherings.

(Going back to Arthur, but others who haven't are welcomed to join in.) To Rose: Arthur smiled at Rose when she entered. When she asked if she was too early, he chuckled. "Never too early and never too late, my dear," he said as he hugged her. "You're always right on time when you enter this house."
To Albus: Arthur hugged Albus, sensing he was a bit upset. He knew the boy had been through a lot, and seemed to have the weight of the world on his shoulder because of who his father was, and because he stood out by being in Slytherin House. "Don't let it bother you, Albus," he said. "Your final year will come and go before you know it, and I know you'll go on to a fine career in... well whatever you plan to do."
To Hugo: Arthur loved that Hugo had stayed over the night before. He really enjoyed the time he and Molly had with his grandson before Hugo was to go off to Hogwarts again. He wished more of his grandchildren stayed over more often. "Sleep well, my boy?" he said, hugging his grandson. To Ginny: Arthur beamed when Ginny showed up. She was and would always be the light of his life and his little girl. But he also knew what a strong woman she had grown up to be, and how proud he was of her. "Hello, my dear Ginny," he said. "I'm still amazed when I look at you and see you're no longer that little girl who scurried out of the room when Harry showed up with your brothers in that old flying car."To George: Arthur had a few things to saw to his always joking son, but never could quite tell the boy off the way his wife could. He decided to leave everything to her. He did pull George back into the living room when the man tried to go for what food was already prepared. To Louis: Arthur hugged Louis when he entered, and Mad-Eye enjoyed the affection, especially after being picked on by George. "Hello, my boy, it's been some time," he said. "Oh, and you mum arrived earlier, but she went out to grab a few things for the desserts. She wanted me to let you know."ROSE MINERVA WEASLEY

Lily was late, but she had a good reason. Lily was picking up some supplies she would need and she just had to get a new broom that went on sale in the morning. She had saved up so long for it and finally had the money to buy it on her own. The girl walked in to the burrow and smiled. It was nice to see everyone together again and she couldn't wait to speak to all of her family members. The young girl made her way up to Ginny and hugged her lightly. "Sorry for being late. I got caught up at the store, thought it would be a short trip. Have you seen Albus?" The red head smiled at her mom and looked around for her brother. If their was two people she loved endlessly on this earth it was her brothers. James and Albus were amazing in Lily's eyes and she always loved being around them. It didn't take the young girl long before she spotted her older brother and she made a bee line for him and hugged him. "Albus! I was worried. I got up this morning and you weren't home. I should have known you came here."
Lily didn't care that her older brother was in Slytherin she thought it was cool that he was picked for another house, it made him even cooler in her eyes. "I got a new broom this morning. I also got you and James a going back to school gift, Even if James isn't going back to school." The red head placed a small box in the boys hand before making her way to another family member. Inside the box was a rock that was smoothed out that had his name carved in to it. It wasn't much but Lily enjoyed giving her siblings things.

Words: 859 | And with a bright *POP!* she apparated in, arriving in her usual place - one body's width to the left of the arbor and trellis that allowed entrance in and out of the fence around the garden of the Burrow. Hermione paused for a moment, more than a little longing passing over her as she noted her own position and the lack of her usual company. Hugo had been here the night, wanting to spend time with his grandparents as was his custom. Rosie had her own life now, her own flat, with her own job to see towards. And she, herself, had been so predisposed with the recent revelations of the Ministry's Keeper of Secrets - which, by the nature of her position, had made Hermione now a keeper of certain secrets - that she was first out of the house and last to arrive home from the Ministry more often than not. As such, she'd already been into her department for a daily check-in, even though it was the weekend, and was half-expecting Ron to have arrived here ahead of her in the interim. It was all a tad on the lonely side. How odd that seemed? Turning up to a family gather, particularly a family so vast as hers, and the first feeling experience being loneliness. Screwing on her best 'everything is fantastic, I have no idea what you're referring to' smile, she ventured in to find the Burrow already bustling as usual. Still quite shorter than he, even now fully grown, Hermione stood on her toes as she greeted her father-in-law, approaching from behind, with a kiss on the cheek. "Miste... I mean, Arthur," she said brightly. She loved the man nearly as much as her own father, and yet it had never quite felt natural calling him 'Dad.' Arthur had been quick to nix any talk of 'Father Weasley,' and any reference to 'Mister' brought up the same corny dad story about how 'Mister Weasley is my father,' that no matter how many times Hermione heard she still found quaint - in no small part because her own grandfather had been fond of it as well. "So sorry to be late."Moving into the fray she found her son looking as though he'd just turned out of bed, still standing a bit bleary-eyed at the foot of the spiral steps. "Up with the chickens as usual, sweetheart?" She gave him a once over, brushing a stray bang of ginger hair from his forehead and smoothing it against the rest. "Enjoy it while you can." It occurred to Hermione, though she didn't show it in her smile, that there was something quite sad in that statement. Not so much for Hugo, but for herself as well - and not just because in that moment she sounded immensely like her mother-in-law, which miffed her to no end. Parents weren't supposed to have favorites, and she would deny it to no end that she did, but Hermione had always felt a stronger symbiosis with her son. She saw so much of herself in him, as well as some of the best parts of Ron which had led her to fall in love with him. Rose was very much her father's daughter, first and foremost; it didn't bother Hermione, but then she'd often been very accepting of facts at their face value. As she gave her daughter a hug, seeing her for the first time in what felt like an eternity but really had been no more than a few days, Hermione lingered just a little. Much as she might have tried to fight it, she had gone fully into mother hen mode and was stumbling her way through coping with a quickly emptying nest. It felt so briefly ago that she'd zipped up her little girl's jumper after helping her pack her trunk and then sent her bravely off to Hogwarts for her first year. And now, full grown, a woman herself. "Don't worry," as she drew away, "I'm resisting just popping in on you to make sure you're keeping the apartment clean and not needing anything. Your father only had to hide my wand two or three times..." It wasn't a joke; she sort of wished it was, but it wasn't. At last Hermione came upon Ginny, for whom there was no formalities of 'in-law.' She was the sister that had simply come from parents other than hers. And these days she was the one who likely understood her best, going through much of the same, but handling it with - or so Hermione felt - far more grace and fewer shortcomings. She squeezed Ginny's hand lightly in her own. "How did we get this old?" she mused quietly. "This used to be us. Now it's our children. I'm quite certain it only feels like it's been a few years time and yet... here we are." This part, strangely enough, wasn't sad, rather just peculiar to Hermione. She'd always been one to feel the need to disprove colloquialisms with logic and reason, but here and now it truly did feel like time had just flown by. @arthur HUGO BILIUS WEASLEYROSE MINERVA WEASLEY GINEVRA MOLLY POTTER& other Weasleys/Potters |
